Letting the Storm Fall Away
Zen teaching returns again and again to non-attachment: holding things lightly enough that they can be released. Ink bursts outward around the warrior like wings breaking apart, yet the figure turns its back on the commotion, shoulders loose, sword resting at the sash. What was gripped has been let go, and the stance is lighter for it.

Indigo Wings on Washed Paper
Deep indigo and slate-blue ink spray out from the center in feathered bursts, flecks and drips, fading to pale grey at the edges. The kimono and hakama dissolve into the same marks, so the silhouette seems both solid and on the verge of scattering. Warm cream space surrounds it, giving the motion room to settle.

A Place to Exhale
Pale timber walls in a mountain cabin give the indigo bursts room to drift, and a bedroom dressed in raw linen with stoneware lamps shares the same slow pace. Whatever was carried here can be set down.
